K1 Parent-child visit to Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden

On April 11, 2024, our kindergarten organized a parent-child visit to the beautiful Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden. The event attracted many families who were looking forward to experiencing the charm of nature together.

In the morning, we met at the kindergarten and the children were excitedly chatting about their expectations of the farm. On the way to Kadoorie Farm by bus, teachers introduced the history of the farm and its ecological value to the children, making them curious about the upcoming activities.

Upon arrival at the farm, the first thing that caught their eyes were the lush greenery and the cute little animals. We were warmly received by the farm’s docent, who led us on a lively tour. Under the guidance of the docent, the children were able to observe various crops such as fresh vegetables, fruits and flowers as well as cute little animals such as sheep, rabbits and chickens. Seeing the sparkle in the children’s eyes, we could feel their curiosity and love for nature.

During the visit, the children not only learned about the growing process of plants, but also the importance of agriculture and the concept of environmental protection. The docent also encouraged the children to participate in some simple interactive activities, including feeding the animals, which made the children enjoy themselves and strengthened their connection with nature.

At lunchtime, we enjoyed our own lunches in the picnic area of the farm, where the children sat around, shared their food and exchanged their feelings with each other. Such moments not only promoted the intimacy between parents and children, but also deepened the friendship between the children and their peers.

At the end of the day’s activities, everyone was reluctant to leave Kadoorie Farm. This parent-child visit not only taught the children a lot of knowledge, but also strengthened the family’s emotional ties, which became unforgettable memories in every family’s heart. We are looking forward to more such activities in the future so that the children can grow up in exploration.
